Payson Military Honor Guard
Welcome to The Payson Military Honor Guard page of American Legion Post 147
The Honor Guard provides military honors for veterans, color guard, rifle team, school support, and community event presentation of the Colors.

The military honor guard plays a vital role in supporting community funerals by providing dignified and respectful ceremonies that honor the service and sacrifice of veterans and fallen heroes. Their duties often include serving as the color guard, proudly presenting and carrying the national and service flags with precision and reverence. The flag folding ceremony is a solemn and symbolic act performed by the honor guard, carefully folding the flag into the traditional triangle shape before presenting it to the next of kin as a token of gratitude and respect. Additionally, the rifle team performs a ceremonial rifle volley, a powerful tribute that underscores the solemnity of the occasion. Together, these elements of the military honor guard contribute to meaningful and heartfelt tributes that support families and the community during times of loss.
